Now the not fun Post

My grandmother (fathers's side) passed away yesterday morning (march 14th). She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a little over 8 years ago, and I hadn't seen her in about 4 years. To be honest I had already accepted that she was "gone" so this isn't a big shock. My primary concern is for my father and mother. The Wake is on Tuesday and the Funeral is on Wednesday. I'll probablly be out of touch those two days.

*Hugs* My grandmother has been "gone" like that for a while too. Every once in a while she will still recognize someone.

Condolences. We know what you mean about it being expected and about her being "gone" already. My deepest sympathies to your folks. (They may in fact find a sense of relief in this in a little while. It is so hard dealing with someone with Alzheimer's.)

I'm so sorry to hear it. Even if it's expected, these things are hard on families. Good luck.

Been there, done that, will do it again.

hugs and sympathies for the Grandmother you lost some years ago and the life energy that died yesterday.

Release is a time of both sadness and acceptance that what was lost is not to be reclaimed in that form. blessed be to you and yours
